1. What these technologies are
Cookies are small values stored by a browser. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage. They can remember login state, security tokens, preferences and consent choices.
2. Categories
- Strictly necessary: authentication, security, CSRF protection, load balancing and consent storage. These cannot be switched off through the preference panel because the service may not function without them.
- Preferences: language, display and convenience settings.
- Analytics: measurement used to understand reliability and feature usage. Analytics storage remains off unless you enable it and an analytics provider is configured.
- Marketing: campaign attribution or personalised promotion storage. Marketing storage remains off unless you enable it and such functionality is configured.
3. Current default
The supplied deployment uses necessary session and security cookies only and does not show a cookie-choice popup on first visit. Optional analytics and marketing storage are disabled by default. If optional trackers are enabled later, the operator must restore an appropriate consent mechanism before those trackers load and update this policy/provider list.
4. Managing choices
Because optional analytics and marketing cookies are disabled in the default deployment, there is no first-visit cookie settings popup. You can still clear browser storage or block cookies in browser settings. Blocking necessary session/security cookies may prevent login, form submission or security checks.
5. Retention
Session cookies generally expire when the session ends, although secure remembered-login tokens may last longer when you explicitly select that feature. If optional cookie categories are introduced later, their consent and retention periods must be documented here before deployment.
